Nicole Ari Parker is an American film TV and stage actress who is known for her role as the spirited attorney Teri Joseph on the Showtime show Soul Food. When she got married, she changed her name to Nikki Kodjoe. Growing up in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an interest in acting from the age of five and was awarded the Best Actress award at the Maryland high school contest. In the years following her work in theater, and 'The Washington Ballet Company she received a master's degree in acting from 'New York University. The year 2002 was a great one for her. Canadian reviewers praised her performance in 92 productions of Pericles. She was offered the opportunity to join Stratford Conservatory. It is a private institution that accepts just eight men and four woman to study traditional theater. Contractor eagerly accepted.
